I got my free extended warranty too...not sure it’s worth anything if ford not fixing what’s broke..as of now I was told my case is closed since ford said all noises are normal and there is no further action needed..

So you guys are getting warranty extended to 75k miles? Only 15k more then factory? Is that bumper to bumper or just powertrain?

It is better than nothing, but I don't know that I would call the truck a POS. Is it annoying and frustrating to deal with this issue? Abso-freaking-lutely, but it still doesn't change the fact that I love everything else about my truck.
Well, that issue, and possible engine consumption issues, transmission hard shifts and now a mysterious scraping sound coming from the transmission area.... I guess our value of what a 50k truck is worth differ.

Exclamation

I really don't think of my truck as a Piece of #*$* (POS) either. I don't care what brand you chose, there is a potential for some issues. 18-19 Titans have tranny issues.
19 Ram's have vibrations and tranny issues. GM/Chevy have oil consumption issues with the AFM. Anytime there is a new model/engine change, there is potential.
Yes, the noises are annoying, but in my opinion, i'm just going to drive the truck and try to enjoy it. If any of the issues cause a drive-ability concern, then that's what a warranty/extended warranty is for. Some folks simply don't have the time to take their truck and and forth and forth to dealerships, or time to continually call Ford and complain. We do spend alot of money on these trucks. But FORD isn't the only truck manufacturer, and in my experience, the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
My 18 with the 5.0 suits me, and has plenty of power. I don't have any harsh shifting with this truck at all.
But this is a forum, and may folks just come here to complain (many a lot). its an open forum and people are entitled to voice their concerns.

I would have been grateful if FORD had offered me a ESP for free. while it might not fix the problem, at least you have some extended coverage if the current issues DO create long term problems.

I'm working from home today and took a few minutes to record the ratcheting noise. Ford is supposed to be calling me with a buyback decision tomorrow. Any sort of extended warranty means nothing to me, as this truck is a lease and I'm dissatisfied with it every morning when I go to work.

WOW! That's loud! sounds like the timing chain slipping or something. But that IS the noise. Mine is sorta suttle and faint, yet still there.
So you have the transmission whine as well?

Makes you wonder if this doing any damage in our engines.
