Default 2018 5.0 l Oil Burner

Has anyone hand the engine replaced for oil consumption? If so did it solve the problem and did you have any other problems resulting from the engine change? Also did anyone try to work a trade out for a new 2019 instead of opting for the engine change? My truck just started the oil consumption protocol.

Cliff notes:

1. Yes, many have had replacements
2. In some cases it fixed the problem, in others it did not
3. Yes, there have been other problems resulting from the swaps
4. Yes, they have and the loss on the '18 is too much for most
5. Best of luck with the test

My 18 stopped consuming around 10k. My dealer was pretty amazing through the whole thing, especially due to the fact that it was burning about a qt every 1k miles. I'd swing by the dealer every 800-1200mi and they'd top it off, make a note in the record, and send me on my way, they even changed the filter for me at 5k.

I checked the oil around 11k and it hadn't budged. Dropped it off to get tires and they checked and verified that it hadn't consumed anything. I'm at 38k now without a drop consumed between 5k-7.5k oci (250ish hrs, it's a work truck that's hooked to 4klbs of trailer almost daily). Since it stopped consuming I'm back to doing my own oil changes on it so it's gotten a steady dose of Pennzoil platinum 5w20 and motorcraft filter since 15k. Overall the truck is ok. I still prefer my personal 14, but it's a work truck that I don't pay a dime for, so it is what it is.

Mine has 7500 on it now, it’s stopped as far as I can tell. I put half a qt. in it about 1k miles ago to get it right between the marks, and when I checked it this morning it was still right there.

I’m hopeful that the decel rattle is the only weirdness my 5.0 has, because I love everything else about my truck.
