Got my first oil change yesterday (2018 5.0, 6400 miles) and had them perform the two recalls and the transmission and rattle TSB's.

I know it is early but based on my ride home last night and ride to work this morning I would say the transmission is shifting significantly smoother and the rattle, while still present, is significantly quieter. I will update back if things get worse.

Mine is just as rattly post-TSB. It does it upon throttle tip-in now as well. Also hearing that haggard whine in the transmission when shifting as posted above. My December 2016 built 2017 3.5 Eco Lariat was a church mouse and butter smooth. Wtf happened? 😒

Thought I'd take a short video to prove that the 5.0 is not a junk engine.
In fact it has been flawless! I can say this is the best engine I've owned.

I'll also throw in my 2014's 5.0 to prove I'm not a one-off.
It's a great engine.
I read all threads and the 5.0 has had less issues than both eco's.

This was my 2014 at 40,000 miles.

You seem like you're trying to prove something to everyone. Try proving it to people that have less than 30,000 miles and have had to have multiple short blocks or timing chains or other components replaced that should last 150,000 miles+. Not trying to hate, but don't necessarily understand why you took the time to record a video of your engine just to prove that it's not a "junk engine."

2017 5.0 is a very different engine than the 2018 5.0

For what it's worth ... 2019 5.0 Kansas City build. Muted popping sound when letting off the accelerator after brisk acceleration. Seems to happen mostly around 35-40 mph. Flawless truck otherwise.

My guess would have been a misfire or something clunking with the drivetrain ... but the posters here do seem to be a lot more educated about the possibilities than I am.

I have a 2018 5.0 L. The tranny does not make any noise. It was made in March of 18 in Kansas City.

Same here....tranny is pretty quiet..no whining so far. 2018 5.0L June of 18, Kansas.

My issues so far:
-deceleration rattle when engine not warm...been there from near the start.
-dash(?) rattle on drivers side; not consistently there..but has been there from near the start.

It's been over a year now and it seems not one person has figured out that noise yet.
Like you, it's the only thing that bugs me.
