2018 3.5 ecoboost stalling when taking off from stop light
Today I was sitting at a stop light. When the light turned green the engine stalled out. It didn't die but eventually accelerated and took off. I had just filled it up with 91 octane gas from conoco. The truck has a little over 5000 miles. It hasn't done it yet until now. I live in west texas and it is a very dry day so I doubt it is the moisture CAC issue. Anybody else have any experience with this?

LOL, I suspect you went to the floor with it?

My experience with that motor in my 2014 is that it is slow as hell off the line. It's that drive-by-wire crap, I think. I really hate the feel and wish I had the 5.0 V8 instead. The 3.5 will eventually get its *** in gear and move, but it definitely hesitates if you gun it from a dead stop. Definitely not going to win any races with this thing.

I've heard it's because of torque management, I don't know if I believe that or not.
On your problem, I think I'd just keep it in mind, and if it did it again, maybe a trip to the dealer, that could be hazardous in some situations. Electronics do stupid things at times.

I didn't believe the moisture issue was the problem. I just wanted to mention where I lived so that nobody jumped to that conclusion. I had read that issue had been resolved also. It was odd because it has performed flawlessly so far.

Try it in sport mode. Shouldn't happen there . Are you sure on the start/stop? I always deactivated it before switching to using sport mode all the time, but one time I obviously forgot and thought something was wrong with the truck until I checked and the ***-off light wasn't on. Yep, forgot to click the button, but since I do it every time, it's just muscle memory now, and can't remember if I did it or not. At any rate, dumping the gas pedal should produce smooth acceleration, since the computer doesn't actually open the throttle body valve immediately, but gradually instead, to avoid stalling, precisely. But gradually happens quickly. I still prefer to apply throttle gradually myself (WOT within 1 second), and never an issue. Check for DTCs, but if you find none, and can't duplicate your issue at will, don't bother with a dealer until you do.
