Mine is same way. I also get a really hard downshift (a bang) sometimes when cruising around 15mph. It's a 4th to 3rd shift.

I had to brake hard yesterday, and really had a hard clunk when it was almost to a stop. First time I had one that felt like I was dropping the drive shaft. Haven't had the TSB applied yet. I'm at 12,600 btw.

I'm having the exact same issue. Transmission feels like it goes into "neutral" when up shifting before slamming into the next gear generating a clunk sound and making the truck surge forward. Usually happens from 1st to 3rd, 3rd to 4th, and 4th to 6th regardless of transmission temperature for me. I'm also experiencing the "jumping" when shifting out of park during high idle or cold starts. Another issue i'm having is when the transmission downshifts in the lower gears (5 through 1) It generates a "clunk" and slows down abruptly almost as if the truck is jabbing on the brakes real quick on every downshift. Kind of feels like downshifting a manual transmission car without rev matching.

It's been about a month of driving with the TSB they gave me.
I don't really think it did much. Guess you could argue it is smoother, but at times I still get the clunk. (My friend gave me a lift in his range rover and I was impressed at how smooth it was compared to mine)
Love the truck. I'm seriously thinking of trading it in now before the value drops if I can swing it money wise.

Just got mine back from the dealer for the apparent programming fix and nothing has changed. Not liking the 10 speed

I think I have this figured out for many of you.. I've also tested it 2 ways.
For those of us that have and the update done with a 5.0 -
You probably feel/hear a clunk now. That clunk is coming from the intake manifold. I have tried this on a 5.0 before it was updated.. no clunk. Updated it and boom, there is the clunk. Clunk can be felt when accelerating and decelerating and especially when going up hill or pulling a load (increasing torque). It can also be duplicated when parked. Rev it up immediately take your foot off the gas, repeat .

The intake manifold has runners of different lengths/twists to divert the air for mpg or power. For some reason after this update its very loud. To prove this is the source look at the front of the intake manifold there is a vacuum port. Unplug it. Run vehicle.. clunk will be gone. Check engine light will come on. Plug back in, check engine light will turn off after a bit of driving.

I put a brand new intake manifold on mine and problem didn't go away. Now I am trying to get the program that was originally on my truck put back on my truck.
Found this video on youtube and it contains the clunk with no vac.. imagine it with full vac. 11 seconds in

I have a 2018 F150 5.0 V8 with the 10 speed, built in September 2018. I am feeling harsh/bumpy shifts especially into 5th gear and downshifting. I brought to the dealer under warranty and they said because it was built in September 2018, the TSB doesn't apply. I asked them to confirm my PCM is up to date and they said yes. So not really sure what the next steps are. Maybe I'm just experiencing what the transmission is supposed to feel like?

Default Tsb 18-2274

So I bought my 2018 3.5L F-150 SuperCrew last June and was always annoyed at the clunky downshifts. A month and a half ago we added another 3.5L SuperCrew to the family, a 2019, and its shiftsare buttery smooth. Today I had the 18-2274 TSB done on the 18. Here’s hoping. I’ll report back.
