2017 stx?
Who's got one? What do you think of it? A local dealer is selling them for $30.5K, which seems like a heck of a deal considering MSRP is almost $40K. Seems really nicely equipped and right in the sweet spot of price and features. I'm longing for my old 2005 super crew XLT that I bought new and sold back in 2011. I'm thinking as soon as my student loans are paid off I'm going to pull the trigger on a new one, and the STX looks like what I'm leaning towards.
Here's the model I'm looking at: https://www.brandonford.com/vehicle-...fl-id-17876940
Just looking for opinions/feedback from owners. Thanks!

I picked up a 17 xlt 5.0 2wd. Which in my area was very rare to find in that configuration. 99% of all the 2wd trucks at the dealer were XL or Xlt in base and sport packages with the 2.7 ecoboost. Also almost all the v8 models were 4x4. Finally grabbed up a loaded out xlt crew the way I wanted for 33,000 plus about 2,000 in taxes and fees otd. Original price was 48,000. Huge discounts on XL and Xlt in the 2.7 around here as well. Some xlt with 302a package 2wd less than 30,000 plus tax
My wife and I are both in 2016s, but we love our trucks. The price you're seeing online is about average. XL and XLT models usually have the greatest rebates/discounts (as they are the most abundant in production). As we shopped, we knew we could expect approx 10k off the window sticker. For comparison, here is a local Texas dealer selling a similar (but not exact) truck for just over 27k...

But dont rush to Texas to buy it. Residency rules apply. I would call and shop around when you are ready to buy tho. I live in Houston, but bought from a dealer in San Antonio (3 hours away), bc he was willing to beat the Houston dealers on drive out by about $1k, AND the salesman drove it to me so we could complete paperwork at my bank. Not necessarily something I would expect to happen every deal, but they've earned the opportunity to compete for my business again next time were in the market. All that to say, dont be afraid to shop around a bit. Its a big purchase, and one you will likely be paying for for years.
Also, dont buy the extended warranty from the dealer. If you want one, check out http://www.zeiglerfordesp.com/ or https://www.floodfordesp.com/. These will save you lots of $.
Happy shopping and best of luck finding your dream truck!
