2017 Steering Issue
Ok this is going to be a bit long winded. I bought a 2017 F150 XLT in the spring and instantly noticed a vibration and pull when driving as well the steering feels loose and flighty. It will randomly start to pull (typically to the right) The dealer had already agreed to put new rims and tires on it so I didn't worry to much about it. Once the new tires went on the problem persisted. The truck has now been into three shops and no once seems to have an answer
Shop 1: Rebalanced the tires. Wouldn't do the alignment as they thought the steering rack needed to be replaced. But were going to check into it some more and let me know....(never did and wont return calls) Vibration did get better with this but is still present
Shop 2: Very honestly told me they drove it, and agree there is something wrong, but checked the front end and everything is tight. Told me a common problem on these trucks are the steering stabilizer, but they will cause more of a jerking sensation and didn't believe that was my problem. Recommended alignment at a local tire shop.
Shop 3: Checked alignment toe was out. Corrected and drove. Problem was still there. Cross rotated the front tires. Problem got a bit better, but still there. and tightened two bolts on my U-joints, (honestly don't see the correlation but ok) And no change. Their final recommendation was to go into ford and see if they have heard of this?
Called ford and they didn't seem to know what it was. But are more than happy to have a look.
Im wondering if anyone out there has had this problem?
Thanks guys
