2017 purchase
I bought a 2017 ecoboost 2 months ago. Come to find out that is sounds like I have to spend more $ on this because of the timing chain issues that showed up a month into it. This truck sure it's a money pit. Now while driving in cruise my break light turns on after about 10 miles of cruise. Does anyone know what is causing this?

I hope if you just bought the truck that you got some kind of extended warranty? I have a 2017 as well and I purchased Ford's ESP warranty for 8 years/100k miles. Gives me some peace of mind. You can buy it for a used Ford, I believe.
You don't have to purchase a truck with lower miles or through a dealer to get a good truck, generally doing those thing makes it cost more. I was just curious to see if there was any way to get any leverage with the dealership service dept. to help you out.
I assume your talking about the brake light on the Instrument cluster.
I like to start simple:
I like to start simple:
- Check that emergency brake is released
- Look at the brake fluid level, if it's showing low level
- Could be the system is loosing brake fluid, check the brake calipers and master cylinder for leaks
- May be the warning you need new brake pads if no one has added brake fluid between the day they were new and now.
- In my older cars as the brake pads ware the caliper pistons move in further, they never fully retract.
- Meaning the master fluid level drops in level as the pads ware. Eventually if all the pads ware equally the master cylinder level reaches a low-point which indicate the pads need changing.
- Fluid volume level equal lost brake pad thickness. Not sure my new truck does that but suspect it does, have not worn out a set of brakes yet.

- Now I believe there is a brake light switch type function adjacent to the brake peddle, probably not the trouble but who knows what a modern commuter can see and respond too.
- Maybe there is a error code telling you the brake system had detected a problem. I never have done this but stop by one of the auto supply stores that can read codes.

Ok. Just got set up with the Forscan stuff. Read the codes myself. There was a code that shows that the matter cylinder was throwing it off. Low break fluid. This was new to me. Didn't know that it would throw a code out. Going to replace pads and after that make sure the break fluid is good. That should solve my issue. I did ask the dealer about it and they just scratched their heads. Didn't know what to tell me.
So... Low break fluid sounds like it is the problem!
