i've read alot of posts on this forum complaining about the rear end "hop" after hitting bumps in the road. mine is an FX4 with the 20 inch wheels, what should be the worst riding truck according to most, and i've never really noticed it.

1. That would be annoying. Fight with the dealer on this.

2. Yes, lots of complaints about the **** poor shocks the trucks come with. Seems like you already found the solution (Fox, Bilstien, etc).

3. I guess I'm the only guy who doesn't mind the wind noise. Makes me feel like I'm in a jet.

4. Option 1 is to buy a bigger garage (expensive). Option 2 is the buy a shorter antenna (cheap). Option 3 is to cut down the antenna (free).

Hope that helps.

If there's wind noise in mine I don't notice it because I usually have the stereo cranked.

That's how I dealt with the vibration from the a-pillar in my Fusion.

my 16 rides great. did u test drive the truck ? did you look it over? you spend almost 70K did you actually double check and and triple check if it's what you want? and you didn't take a tape measure to the dealer to measure the antenna? towing package?

so you purchased a used 17 with a poor lift kit job or you where banned from the silverado forum.

welcome to the forum.

and when you return the truck for your full refund hit me up i got some land i need to sell

Where did he say the truck is lifted? He said he is retiring soon, so I am going to guess he purchased new and its stock.

But like everyone else said, get better shocks, the stock ones are terrible.

I notice random vibes from time to time too, but meh its not like death wobble or anything.

A thorough test drive prior to handing over your money would've saved you many of these headaches.

Try another dealer (vibrating all the time and excessive wind noise are not normal...), if you strike out again, go trade on a new ram, should be even money.

Chances are the truck has the Goodyear LT tires on it. There is a very good chance that is where the vibration originates from.

Replace the rear shocks with Bilstiens.

That solves 2 of your problems.

I bought my 17 to replace a 2010 Ram 1500 and this was the biggest mistake of my life. Truck is perfect until 50mph then its much much much louder then the Ram was. I have adjusted the doors, used surgical tubing everywhere, applied additional seals to the doors and this thing is still damn loud. I would love this truck if not for the wind noise inside and feeling vibration from outside wind or hitting potholes. I honestly thought Ford made a great product but its crap. Ford dealership said its normal. I test drove my truck but was never able to take it above 60-70mph for longer than 30s. If I had one day with it, I would never buy it.

Truck is all stock, yes I test drove, but that was hard to determine the ride on city streets, traffic etc. No I DID NOT measure the antenna!

On the plus side the gas mileage is very good, averaging 18.2 city/suburban

See if the dealer can swap your 18's for 20's and test drive it to see if the vibration goes away. I have a set of 20's with Bridgestone Duelers that came off my 2014 that was wrecked and swapped out those same wheels/tires and the vibrations I had went away and is smooth as silk now. The wind noise you hear could also be the tires, my 16 is nice and quiet, I do have wind noise, but its expected, but not loud in any way.
