2017 LCD panel backlight and functions dead?
Hey folks,
I parked my truck last night with everything working. This morning, I fired it up and noticed the screen was dim (zero backlight) and when I put it in reverse, the camera could be faintly seen. The radio was working at the time. I put the truck back in park, hit the power button (the ol' "Turn it off and on again" trouble-shooting), then the radio would not turn back on. The navigation won't come up.
I still have climate control, and I can access the settings but changing the brightness or day/night mode has no effect.
Before I bring this in for Warranty work to fix it, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if it is something simple like a blown fuse (#32 / #33?) or if it's a bum unit. Any thoughts?
2017 F-150 Lariat @ 24,000km (15,000miles). Owned from new 19 months ago. There's no reason the electronics should have gone sour at this point of the truck's life.

..... and, I jump in the truck after work, turn it on and the problem persists.
I light up the cooled seats, and *bingo* It's all working again.
Wow... now what am I supposed to tell the service folks. :/

I'd say exactly that- it wasn't working with multiple resets and you turned on cooled seats one day and it 'fixed' it. There might be some short somewhere that had affected it or maybe still is. Hopefully something held a DTC somewhere or if not, they at least know to look at both the screen and whatever modules/wiring is pertinent to cooled seats. You could speculate for months on electrical gremlins
