2017 interior changes?
Is the leather the same as the center portion where the horn is or is it a different texture? The '15s and '16s had the same hard leather in both places but the '17s have a softer and smoother leather around the wheel.
Also, I noticed that the center console stays open and wants to stay open. Not sure if this was always specific to a Lariat, but my 2015 XLT did not do this. it didn't have a spring to keep it open, but would fall down on it's own pretty easily. I think this is a good unnoticed update.

Swamplynx, that's the new upgraded leather that you have. The prior models had the same super hard and smooth surface as the center horn part of the wheel. Almost like it wasn't really leather at all but plastic.
steering wheels felt the same across all three, I hope they are upgraded though. The wheel in my 2012 is garbage.
Maybe It was a behind the scenes change from 15 to 16. Mine would fall down and slam if anything hit the back of it or I slightly hit the brakes.
I have not gone to the dealership to check one out yet but from the online videos I've noticed the 4x4 selector lights up with amber lights showing mode, think it blends in nicely with the amber lights on the radio/hvac console.
borh are true. I just spent a good few hours comparing 17 XLT, 17 Lariat sport, and 16 Lariat SE. The 17's no longer have the rubber bumpers in the cup holders, rather hard plastic spring loaded grips. The ambient also moves to the bottom of the cup holders. I also noticed they moved the front cubby light to the back so it is not shining up in the cab anymore. The dual USB ports in the rear was a nice new feature also.
