Nice looking truck though, and I don't think there is any new engine for 19????

First 5 pages of this forum, and one thread about trans problems, and that was one poster, so yeah, some people will have issues for the first year release, but considering the 10 speed is behind all engines except the 3.3 V6, it is having a decent track record, unlike the moonroofs, or IWE's, which there are at least a 20:1 ratio of to the 10 speed. Much smaller chance of an issue for a new, 2 year old transmission vs a brand spanking new fully redesigned truck.

I would wait to see how the safety ratings stack up first. So far it's all ford, and above any feature any one truck may have, is my family's safety. But I will admit, the new ram interior is very nice in pictures, and at least they lost the awful crossbar grille.

Thanks for all the feedback and I welcome more.
FYI my wife drives a 17 RT Durango and we love it. I would choose Durango over Explore any day of the week IMO, but that's another conversation lol. I will say the 8 speed trans sometimes feels a little weird, but I think its a Durango thing. My Scat Charger and Challenger never had an issue.
I'm thinking the best way for me to go about this may be to lease the 17 F150 Limited and at the end of the lease buy it out right or move to the RAM if I'm not happy with the Ford. I will say I am a little nervous about all the F150 sunroof stories I've been reading.

That's what I would do (and did), lease the Ford on a 2-3 year contract, then see where things are at with Ram discounts and what Ford brings to the table next redesign. (just Leased a '18 XLT for 24 months myself). I know you mentioned you prefer the '17 over the '18's, but look over Residuals carefully. In our Region anyway, the '18 Residual Values are much higher than the 17's. So you may actually pay significantly more monthly for a '17. Residuals will also start going down from here as we get later in the model year,
