I purchased a new 2017 F-150 XLT with the 2.7 L turbo engine & discovered it has the stop/start feature when idling at a traffic light.
I live in a rural area of western PA & we only have 6 traffic lights in the entire town so long idles at traffic lights is not an issue.
I'd like to know if there is a way to disable the stop/start feature. It is annoying to me, & the salesman & service department had no clue.

Take a look at the Forscan sticky at the top. You can permanently disable with no changes to h/w. Overall is best solution. If you search on this forum there are other solutions.

h/w = hardware. Forscan allows you to make mild s/w (software) changes to various modules. One which allows to turn off the S/S. In the thread, gives a bunch of other possible changes plus the requirements to use FORscan

Mine has the same feature and also has a button on the dash which disables that feature, it is annoying

no offense, but have you, your salesman, nor your service dept. looked at the owners manual to see that there's a button to disable it temporarily?

Ford can't officially offer an always off solution because they'd have to recertify with the epa. You'll learn that you can just be very light on the brake pedal and *** won't activate.

I recently purchased a 2015 F150 with the 2.7 engine and auto stop/start feature. I didn't like it at all, even though I know it can save some gas. Like you, we live in a relatively small area with fairly short traffic stops and I really didn't like the way it would stop for just a few seconds when you hit the brake at the stop (even a 4-way stop). It is sensitive to brake pressure, but again, I just did not like it and I usually would hit the button to deactivate it when I remembered (or after the first auto stop/start). I know it can be deactivated with Forscan (I even downloaded the Forscan software and purchased an OBDII adapter for my laptop), but I found a much simpler way to deactivate it with a simple jumper wire on the back of the switch in the dash.
If you check out this Youtube video, you can see the way to add the little jumper wire. It works very well and the auto stop/start button lights up as "off" as soon as you insert the key to start the unit. I used a short jumper of doorbell single-strand wire (probably 20 gauge) and it inserted in the terminals behind the switch just fine. I know there are many opinions on this subject and you will get several responses that say to just ignore it and let it do its job (which would probably be fine also, but as I said, I do not like it). I have it on my 3.5 engine. What I hate is the ac quits blowing cold air.

If you have the towing package easiest way to disable it is to plug in a trailer light tester.
