So I noticed just the other day that the Blis on the '17's still works while towing.
So the question is can we retro fit that to the 15-16 trucks? It seems they have the same tail lights so what exactly would be the difference? FORScan mod? Livinitup did you see anyThing of this? Knowin you are the FORScan Guru after all.

 

Did some checking and it does indeed seem to be same taillights at least when on Fordparts.com using my Vin and a local dealers 2017 vin.

 

I wish there was a way to add this on my '16 as it sucks when towing that we lose that feature. I bets it's a software update but not sure if Ford would ever allow it to be updated to the older trucks.

I think were you would run into trouble is weather or not the 15-16 have the pro back up in it, I know with my 17 the set for the trailer BLIS is through that feature. I had a 15 with BLIS and it was not even an option as I also heard the trailer part was new to the 17's it was tech that was brought over from the F250 BLIS.

 

while the led tail lights are the same the firmware on the radar module in each light is different and has more lines to it. the newer modules apparently work in older trucks but i have yet to here if they have been made fully functional. i think livnitup is/was working on that. keep in mind that the light and radar are sold separately and not together which is why the lights have the same part number for 15-17. i think part of the problem came down to the ipc firmware had to be updated to the 17+ firmware for it to work and that firmware didn't play nice with the older trucks or something like that
