Default Is 2017 4" to 8" plug and play?

Looking at a 8" screen from a 2018 F150 with the trim around it.

Will it be completely plug and play from my 4"? Swap screen and bezel?

Will there be an reprogramming needed?

Below is what he is selling. Will I need anything else?

UPDATE Sounds like I may need these?

I'm assuming you are trying to use your APIM? Not sure why all the AC/heat controls are removed, that could turn in to a headache. You will need a couple other things from what I can see. There is another wiring harness you will need to hook up the screen to the APIM, and yet another to hook up a newer USB port for sync 3 compatabilty. 2 screen brackets will be needed also. I'm not 100% sure if your APIM will work without at least doing a software update to sync 3 either.

I did this swap about a year ago, but I bought everything as a kit. I pulled all my stuff out, plugged the kit components in. So doing a pieces/parts swap sounds a little more complicated.

No I would not use my APIM, it comes with its own. Right?

From the looks of that photo, can't be sure if it's there or not. (Sorry, at work on my phone hotspot, and it took a minute to download the photo, but yes the APIM is there) It would be mounted to the back of the screen. Now, if it is, you will have to get it programmed with your VIN, and it will not work unless you do. So that is something you need to check on. As I said, I am not sure if yours will work or not, so you would have to find someone more knowledgeable. They may be screen size sensitive, I'm not sure. One other thing you may want to check, if it does come with the APIM, is it XM enabled, and some are HDD capable. Not all have XM or HDD, as that was determined how the original truck was optioned. And if it is XM, and yours isn't, you would need a satellite antenna and antenna cable to connect. I wish this was more simple, but Ford didn't make it easy.

Oh, and I ordered the same cable off Amazon for the APIM to screen connection, but I couldn't get mine to work right, I ended up sending it back and sourcing that cable from another source. The USB one is pretty basic and easy

can you please share the harness you ended up with? The deal is for $220 (he started asking $350) so too good not to try. The bezel is usually about $200 alone.

how did you know you needed the harness? Did you try without an extra harness first?

I totally get what you are saying, it's worth the risk at that price. The new harness is primarily for the newer USB port, because it is tied in to the sync 3 if i'm not mistaken. The data (apple and Android play) is tied in to it, then there is a separate small short harness that just runs down for the power to the USB port I believe. I tried the Amazon one, and it didn't have one connection I needed, so I asked the guy on Ebay that I bought the parts from, and he gave me a link to another website to a guy that sold the cable I needed, then I was good. I do not have the link to the site he gave me. The guy I bought all the pieces from is simplymichigan on Ebay. he still has some stuff there, but his website is not up anymore, but you may get in touch with him and he could prob tell you. He used to do all his own programming also.
