Default 2017 3.5

Working on a 2017 3.5 that had a oil leak at the timing cover. While cover is removed I am replacing all timing components as well. I contacted my Ford supplier who sent me everything I needed to do the repair. Included is 8 of a gasket AT4Z-6C262-A. I did not remove anything that looks like these and am unsure about their purpose. I found a diagram on line that shows them going between the phasers and the camshaft. However my concerns are there were none in the original engine. They are .062 thousands thick so they will space the phasers out further that original design which is a concern for timing chain alignment. They are a fiber type material and have a cut in them so they can be expanded to fit around whatever they go on. Anyone encounter this before?
Thank you

I found where the seals go. Removed the first cam shaft bearing cap. They go around the camshaft. Explains why the are cut. So they can be installed without removing the camshafts.
