2017 2nd Generation 3.5L EcoBoost

So I've had my 2017 two weeks and I don't know how Ford tuned the exhaust, but it has a nice rumble to it that I didn't have with my 2013.

Anyone else with a 2017 notice this?

And no, it's not the sound enhancement inside, I'm talking about standing outside the truck.

I haven't had a chance to hear the 2nd Gen 3.5 exhaust, but I will say that I'm very pleased to note the tech & engineering features of that engine coupled with the 2nd Gen 2.7 and forthcoming 4.8 dual injection V8. Even Lincoln's 3.0 iteration of the 2.7 with 400HP/400TQ is exciting & can be expected to achieve 2nd Gen status soon. Well done, Ford.

Active exhaust noise cancellation maybe? More likely just careful tuning of the exhaust to minimize some frequencies.

Since we are getting a Dual Injection 5.0 in the 2018 I'm not sure the 4.8 is still a go. We will see.

I agree. I've had mine close to a month and love the new engine note. It's not the augmented sound either. Ford just did a nice job tuning it.

You really notice it in Sport mode. It keeps the RPM much higher in all conditions and really lets you experience the engine performance, even for normal driving.

I'm nearing 1k miles and liking the new ecoboost and 10 speed more each day.

I notice during remote startup while walking dog around it gazing. Nice tone. Goes away when fast idle kicks back. I'm curious what the driving note is and if it comes back.

So can you feel any difference between the old and new?

Funny you bring this up. I accelerated hard after talking to a buddy who pulled over on the side of the road. He called me after I took off and asked if I put exhaust on it, I said no. He said it sounded really good. 2016 3.5L Ecoboost XLT FX4.

Exhaust note? I get in it just to hear the turbos spool....they seem louder then the 1st gen?
