To me it looks like corrosion under the paint. How about using your camera's macro setting and giving us an extreme close-up?

OK, these are a little better. It is tough to photograph because they are pretty small. I know this is all just guessing without seeing it in person, and even then it's tough to tell. If it was soft/ready to flake I would definitely agree that it is the aluminum corrosion. What's odd to me is that the spots are solid and the clear/paint seems intact.

Reviving an old thread.
I've been researching on the aluminum corrosion issue and have found examples but only after the vehicle has been on the road for 15-50k miles. I have the same paint bubbling as Soleamp posted with the exception of a more bubbles and a bunch of defects. Not all of my bubbles were hard and cracked under pressure. I filled them with touch up to keep it from spreading. I'm trying to decide if it is in fact corrosion or just defects. 2018 with 600 miles on it.

Ford accepted a warranty replacement on the hood but I'm hesitant to have an auto body shop paint it and it come out not looking as good as factory.

Do any of you guys have the same bubbling? Did you have it replaced & did it come out ok? Soleamp did you get yours looked at/has it gotten worse?

Thanks in advance!

I found these ones from a 2016 where you can see the paint hasn't so much bubbled but raised and starting cracking.
