I was wondering, does the 2016 Navigation also use the sd card for data?

 

I had read somewhere that it automatically downloads the maps via WiFi, then asks you if you want to buy them (or something to this effect). If not, it wipes the new maps from being installed and waits for the next version.

...that's a rough translation of what I remember. Probably not exact though. I didn't see the cost for those maps or information on how 'new' those new maps really are.

 

There is no SD card slot on 2016 models equipped with Sync 3.
