Default 2016 Ecoboost Stutter

Howdy friends...

I have close to 90K on my truck and I'm starting to notice a stutter when the turbos come on while in cruise. If I'm not in cruise and I decide to have quick spirited burst it stutters doing that as well.

With 90K is it time to change my plugs? What else should be looked at while I'm at it?

Thanks in advance.

I’d do the plugs before I worried. Air filter?

Agree with David Jones above, I had a slight stutter only when taking off onto the main road out of my work parking lot, only after immediately starting and then accelerating out of a parking spot and changed the plugs a couple weeks ago and have not had it since. Plugs are easy, my advice is change the coil boots at the same time. Rubber deteriorates at repeated heat temps and is good insurance to just change them out at the same time. I am just over 90K miles as well. I would do a little preventative maintenance first before really worrying about it. Good luck.

I'm changing plugs today. Didn't think about the boots. Will do those as well.

PS: I have a drop in KN filter and it looks about the way it should for having 90K on it. There's no major debris or dirt collected on it. Maybe I'll clean it this weekend and see how that does. Just to be safe.

Absolutely ensure you use dielectric grease or similar on the new boots. I installed new boots when doing plugs on my '13. Next round of plugs was a very frustrating task of picking out coil boots stuck on the plugs.

Might have a coil going bad as well. I had one intermittently causing issues but no CEL. Finally, it died and threw one. If you haven't done trans/rear diff fluid, i highly recommend that as well. I had a trans shudder at 85k and a service cleared it up (for now). That "lifetime" Fluid did not look great.

Changed the plugs and boots on the COPs...no issues so far. Knock on wood. She's running like she should.

I'll keep in mind the fluid swap. I know it's close to time for all of that anyway.
