2016 defrost issue
Hey all. I have a 2016 f150 w/ 2.7l. The blower fan works and air comes out the dash and under dash vents. Nothing comes out the defrost vent.
Is it an actuator issue? Is this an easy diy repair? This is literally the first ford I've personally owned so my general knowledge isn't the best for this brand.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Whether you have EMTC (Electronic Manual Temperature Controls) or DATC (Dual Automatic Temperature Controls) it doesn't make a difference. The problem is the Air Distribution Door Actuator. See Item 1 on the second page, which is the EMTC version.
This is one of the easiest actuators to replace with access above the throttle pedal. If you buy a replacement, I suggest you get a Ford/Motorcraft part. There has been a lot of issues which some of the aftermarket parts not working properly.
My 2016 also just started having an issue with the defrost not working. When you replace the actuator module do you have to make any adjustment to the actuator so it matches the push button thats luminated? For example, if I install it with the main vent button luminated is there any possibility the module may be set for defrost when installed?
Thanks
