Default 2016 8" Screen Blinking Off/On

Hey everyone, hoping you all can shed some light on this one. I've got an 2016 F-150 Platinum w/Navigation.

My screen is continually flashing/blinking off & on. It will light up for about a second, then be dark for 4 seconds. These times are consistent & it does this all the time. All of the buttons on screen work, if you know where to tap. It's hard to see in the video, but the screen on the right half appears better illuminated than the left? Not sure if it was like this before.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?
Is there any way to find out if the problem is in the APIM or the screen?

Shine a flashlight in it while it's doing that so you can tell if its just the backlighting turning off. If its just the backlighting turning off, my guess would be the display is bad. Just a guess though.

Humm, hitting with a flashlight I still can't see anything.
I wonder if there's an "easy way" to check the voltage coming from the APIM? It's only 4 pins right? I'm assuming 2 of them are power? Or maybe one, using the case as common negative?

My guess would be the display is the culprit. I don't have the pinout for the display cable handy.

Did you ever resolve this issue? I'm having the exact same issue with my 2017 F150.

I just started having this issue today. Has anyone seen resolution on this? My dealership is 3 months out on appointments and I'd rather do this myself to be honest

My issue was the display. I replaced the APIM TWICE before the tech I was talking to finally said, "Well, if that didn't work, let's give the display a shot." Boom, done fixed it! BTW, the tech I was talking to was SUPER helpful and nice and really wanted to help me solve the problem 10/10 would recommend. The website is: https://www.cd4car.com/ I'm not affiliated with them at all but they were awesome. The tech even gave me his cell number so I could text with him about the whole mess.

I had someone that had a blinking display issue as well that send me theirs. I replaced the display within the display assembly itself and it was all good after that.

Hey, brother, you don't have the part you replaced (item and where you got it) handy, do you?

The person you asked the question to hasn't logged onto this forum since 06/2022, so don't be surprised if you don't get a response from them.
If you search Amazon for "sync 3 display" or "sync 3 digitizer", you will get several results for the screen itself.
