2015 TMPS Issue
I traded my stock sport rims on my 2015 SCREW XLT for some after market rims and tires that came off a 2016 SCREW XLT. Not thinking anything of it, I drove off and assumed the sensors would train themselves, or need to be trained. Neither is the case, took to a ford dealership, they claim they can read the sensors, but they cannot be trained to mine because there is a different frequency between 2015 and 2016. Is this BS? I've tried training them myself with putting the truck in training mode and releasing pressure, but no avail. I just ordered some new tires and would like to change the sensors when I get them put on if needed. Any ideas? Do i need to buy the sensors from Ford? Is there somewhere to buy them online much cheaper? They said if I bring them in they will train them for me for the same cost of mounting the tires. I just see the same sensors being sold online for 2015 and 2016, so I don't know what to do at this point. Any help is appreciated.
2015 and '16 are the same sensors.
Ebay has sensors that will work for around $50, just do a search. (ebay)
Are you sure there are sensors in the tires/rims you traded for?
The correct sensors should train themselves.
