An 8" woofer can often get just about as deep as a 10" woofer. It has more to do with the total design rather than simply the size of the woofer.

Most of the woofers talked about here have small boxes which do more to limit volume at very low frequencies than the speaker size.

I saw that the other day poking around the Kicker website. I wonder if you would also benefit by upgrading the door speakers to Kickers as well and power it with this system and keep all functions of the OEM head unit.

I wouldn't be sticking in kickers in the doors, I'd go with Scanspeak 7" and Scanspeak 1" and not use their multichannel.

Coastdweller, so your saying go with the kicker sub but the other speakers in the doors? Use the factory Head unit to power the doors and just set the sub with the amp?

I'm insane, so was just telling you what I personally would do.

The goal of the system is to improve the driver motors (The speakers) to take the higher wattage so I think you would be fine (But that's an assumption by me) with the kicker system.

I'm a on or off type of person. There is no middle throttle, middle level speakers etc. I believe if you have a 435 hp mustang it should be idling or full throttle. Sound is the same way with me.

My goal is a precient audio 12 inch behind the back seat with high end tweet/mid woofs and more power thats needed but I believe this kicker system would refresh the panzy sony system quite a bit.

Would love to see some reviews of the kicker setup.

Specifically for the MFT but not compatible with the Sony upgrade correct? It would be nice to find a clean way to upgrade the Sony system.

I am wondering as well. State 3 motorsports website claims it will work in the description however I'm fairly certain they just copied and pasted from the 2014 kit.

I emailed them almost two weeks ago asking if that was indeed the case and they said they are test fitting them and will post when they find out. I guess they are running into snags because that was 13 days ago.
