I had some noises coming from the rear diff, I was planning to re-gear since installing a 4" BDS lift and going to 35" in February. Truck has 80k.
I swapped the gears yesterday and found the drivers side carrier bearing chewed up. The oil slinger was broken and a small part missing. I assume when the factory set the pinion the broke the oil slinger and the part rode around in the rear until now.
