2015 Lariat 2 day old... carnage
Story:
Truck was delivered in on Friday 3/13/15 (yes Friday the 13th), was parked on residential street (having dinner with my in-laws). On Sunday (2 days later) a former police officer was texting and driving too fast (cited for failure to control speed... note that it is a 30MPH limit), never hit the breaks, whamo!
My truck (remember parked) was thrown 283 feet down the street (4 houses). He was in a 2015 Toyota 4 runner. He walked away with a scraped shin and bitten tongue. Praise God he was not hurt more!
Insurance fiasco - he did not have enough coverage Geiko just washed their hands of me and said go to your local insurance. I have State Farm and they were INCREDIBLE. The truck was not 'financially' totalled but due to the part unavailability and my local agent stressing the situation with his company they took care of it. 99% (I lost money on my deductible and about $400 due to 500 miles on the truck).
Damage:
Bent Frame (would need to be replaced)
Bed (replace)
Rearend (replace)
Cab: near perfect
Blown out rear window.
In my opinion the truck performed perfectly and would have kept the occupants safe (except for likely whiplash), but the aluminum crumpled like it was designed and I am very impressed.
Here are some pics for your enjoyment.

Thanks for sharing the story and the photos. These pictures were floating around another thread that many people were following.
Glad nobody was hurt.
EDIT: I mentioned in the other thread that I am hoping to buy a new F150 for myself and a new 4Runner for the wife this year. At least I know both vehicles did their jobs in protecting the occupants. Looks like a pretty serious crash, so it's nice to see the at-fault driver walk away.

What thread is that?? I wanna go see it! Yes, I am the owner.
Also, new truck is here. Almost the same but missing the 502A (I really liked the rear heated seats and LED lights which is disappointing). It is also the 157" wheelbase (6.5' ext bed).
I'll post a pic later

Whoever posted the pics in that thread got them from another F150 forum.
He also go the story wrong -- blamed a "young kid" for texting & driving. Unless "young kid" WAS a "former police officer".
