Since this was an ecoboost. Was it raining that day? My friend a mechanic says that they have seen a number of issues on the ecoboost engines when it rains especially.

Well, you can always go to GM or Dodge...They're known for never having issues. In fact, when I take my jeep in for service and can't find anyone in the service department, it's not because they're a bunch of <insert sh*thead comment>s but because I miraculously have the only jeep requiring work. The glazed, half-present stare of the service rep when I do finally get someone to come to the counter, isn't because the guy is a <insert comment about flip'n dimwitted jack*sses> but because he's so shocked that he's actually hearing of a problem...
I'm sensing a trend...

Agreed Jeep dealership we purchased the vehicle from was not exactly wonderful with service. I've had a couple issues with Jeep Grand Cherokee that the dealership service dept was not able to fix properly.
We now service ours at an independent automotive shop and will not be returning to the dealership service again.

Buy a chevy with 5.3 and drive that.
Then you can report back about how incredibly unreliable a vehicle can be.
I had one.....it broke down so often the first number in my speed dial was the chevy roadside assistance number, not my girl friend or bff or employees!

yes 2015 Plat 3.5 no rain 75* and suny
I spent almost $60,000. on a new truck for reliability and safety. 75* sunny day, no warning driving on a the Skyhkill expressway out of Phila with my son and 175lb, great dane and a 100lb LAb and my truck decides if doesn't want to drive any longer, call Ford road side they charge me $150.00 to tow truck to my original dealer maybe 23 miles away. call a buddy to come pick me and my son and all the dogs as well as a bed full of tools. Yes, I am so pissed I think this thing is a POS, dealers says it is a trans issue No Sh-t. Needs the truck for atleast a week. So this is a little more than a pothole especially when the only vehicle available from dealer is a ford Fusion, I am a contractor who needs his tools and truck for materials to make a living. SO yes it is a POS. TRuck has 4500 miles on it and now I have to worry every time I hit a bump or something doesn't feel right is this POS going to leave me stranded. Should I have to worry every time I drive it, if it will break down. When the dealer says he doesn't know what it is, "but it is a big deal", that helps. I hope this doesn't happen to any of you.
