2015 fuel mileage

Not Quite There (yet?)
This was not hyper miling, average freeway cruising speed of 68. There was time spent in town/at a stop/etc. At 50 mph ssc I was seeing 28-30 on the past 30 minutes gauge. I need to pump up tires, put on a tonneau, and drive in some warmer weather, haha. Doesn't appear Bondo ever got his lids off the ground. I've always wanted to buy one.
Cliffs: 2.7 Eco is awesome if you know how to drive them.

Yeah , a real shame about the Aerolid. It seems I don't understand America anymore. We ignore what is low cost, proven, and practical for what is expensive, exotic, and a "too far in the future" pipe dream. And Bondo couldn't get the startup funds because the Feds decided to give $500 million to a Chinese battery company that went bust before a single product was sold?
Eh... c'est la guerre.

I gotta admit to being more than a little jealous, and on a 4X4 no less! Any chance to pull a trailer yet?

Don't get me wrong I've been averaging right about 20 mpg all around (short trips between job sites, warming up in the morning, etc). But for the first freeway trip I decided to take it easy and see what I could do at a more leisurely pace. The main thing is that you have to stay out of the boost as much as you can, which is tough.

There is still a lot of room for improvement on Aerodynamics of trucks. Bondo's design would probably be a candidate for a Kickstart funding program. There are other ways to make big differences on the aero also. Phil Knox was a pioneer in the area.
I have never worked at an oil drain place but I imagine those guys have seen a lot of poor aerodynamics. Have you ever looked under your truck? They say 20 to 30% of a vehicles aerodynamics are due to the underside. Everybody who does a leveling kit complains about poor gas mileage. Duh, Bernouli, Venturi, Newtons 3rd, Coanda Effect ,Wing In Ground Effect have barely been addressed in the underside of trucks. Here is a small cheap upgrade that would be simple to do (from aerostealth 150). I would be interested to see any other ecomods anyone has tried.

Also, as hard as it is to make the mods on top, the dirty side is much harder. It's not only the rocks and brush you have to think about but the majority of the cooling of the exhaust and brakes is radiant and not convective. This is something the Ford engineers should be addressing, not us. And yes, I know there is an air dam there but because of the clearance it's barely functional.

One tank of gas through the truck now and I'm sitting on about 19.9mpg mixed highway and city driving. I feel like I can do better, but I have been having a little fun here and there with the ecoboost so that may account for it.

Incredibly obvious, yet amazing no one thought of it earlier. Did aerostealth note any performance improvement with that mod?
