2015+ Frozen door latch TSB/ Recall
#22
Old Fart
It was at 33˚ F this morning and I had no problem. But I am thinking if I did have an issue I would just remote start it and let the cab heat up some and then give it another shot. This of course is assuming that I am locked out of the vehicle due to frozen locks. Better than nothing.
Of course those without remote start would be up sheetz creek.

Yeah, i ran my remote start for at least 15 minutes, so that's not it. The handle was fine, it was the latch in the door. Annoying, glad there's a TSB just have to find time to bring it in, explain it yada yada. Let's see how tomorrow goes!!! I sprayed some liquid wrench in there tonight, lets see what that does!

let us know if you locate the new TSB. I am in BC and exprienced the same issue 3 times in the last 2 days now. The worst was this morning before work. Spent 30 mins trying to get the stupid latch 'defrosted' with a hair dryer plugged into the trucks AC outlet.
WD'd the crap out of it last night and this morning but that doesn't seem to be solving the issue.
Spoke with my Ford dealer again today, apparently the new TSB involves ordering/installing some rain guards that should prevent moisture from getting into the latching mechanism. Of course they are being shipped in limited supply so we are screwed in the meantime.

I had my 2016 into the dealer couple weeks ago for the TSB, I was told it could be spring before TSB is done as the "kits" are currently being rationed by Ford to 2 kits per week per dealer. The dealership told me that they had approximately 10 trucks in for the same problem that one day alone!.
