I have had my doors 'fixed' multiple times, so far nothing has worked. Even had all the handles replaced. I had been receiving a bi-weekly update from the regional service manager. That has now stopped, and he just said either Ford or dealer will contact me before next winter with the next fix. Below is some of the last email I received. He basically is saying that Ford does not not have a solution... Does the double negative mean that do have a repair?...

"Right now Ford engineering is currently working with other departments on how exactly information is going to be released about a repair process for these door latch concerns. At this point we do not expect to have anything released in the near future however we will have something released either to our dealerships and/or our customers before next winter. This is not to say that we do not have a repair in place already, we just don’t know how the information will be released, whether it is through a recall or just a bulletin to the dealerships."

All I know is I refuse to go through another winter with this problem. If the 2018s don't have this problem then they had to have figured something out. If not they better replace my truck.

Default 2018 Trial Door Latch - Testing Next Week

I got a call from my dealer asking me to bring my 2018 F150 in for the "installation" of a new Door Latch Design by Ford Factory Support personnel who are swinging through Seattle Area next week.
They plan to have my truck for a full day, will update my truck with the NEWEST design of the Freezing Latch fix, and do a training for some of the shop techs in the area.

Apparently the Factory Personnel were up in Alaska this week installing some "new latches" for final cold testing...and my truck will be updated with the same new design.

Guess we'll have to see what's different/new with this fix over all the others...and wait for Winter to see if it does the trick.

Ask me how I know that Ford magically fixes things after winter and next winter the problem will still be a problem? I am guessing the problem will grow but only time will see.... tick tick tick. My biggest hope is if I ever get a Ford replacement I happen to be in the crowd that claims to have a "good one" :-)

I fixed my problem....traded out of my truck - and away from Ford. Not going to wait and see if the replacement latches fixed it.

Interesting to all the service visits on the Carfax. 😂

I had the frozen latch issue on my 2016. They've since replaced the latches on all four doors. Now my rear driver side door won't unlock. Anyone else having this issue?

mort likely your actuator motor shaft is seized and needs to be disassembled and freed up.

the 2018 model has the exact same parts than the 2015-2017. Also, many 2018 reported the same issue. It does not mean you will experience it, but you have the same faulty parts.
