The factory Ford wheels isn't chrome plated, uses a process call PVD. Only use PVD safe cleaners and polishers.

This^^

Also,in addition to what was already mentioned (they are not real chrome plate) meaning they won't rust. What that is,is rail dust/fallout.
It's from your rotors throwing up brake dust.Probably all over your paint as well you just need to look close at it.They are just little "rust LOOKING" spots that just land on the paint/sit on the paint or wheels.
This happens with every vehicle,(even newer vehicles). To remove it use a clay bar and clay lube or a liquid fallout remover.
For your wheels/paint to help repel the fallout, make sure the wheels/paint always have a good coat of wax on them.
After 6 months, reassess the vehicle and repeat the same steps if needed.
Also, washing the vehicle once a week will also help keep the paint/wheels fallout free.

nope ...zero corrosion....I am in Canada north east of Boston and we get or fair share of snow, ice, heavy salt on the roads....not a spec of corrosion..

Frozen/ inoperative doors a different story

I admit, I only wash my truck every few weeks, but I don't think that's any reason for all the pitting I'm having.
That's why I didn't want the chrome package this round. My 2012 F150 wheels chrome peeled and sidesteps corroded. And that was only after 2.5 years. Plus looked weird having chrome tow hooks.
