I used the plastic outside of it and metal screws instead of the male plastic parts. That way it don't matter what material the screws are because they won't make contact with the metal hood.

Ford parts are suppose to take into account the galvanizing corrosion risk with steel vs aluminum connections and utilize a interference medium or have the screws and connectors coated with an inhibitor.

Does the Ford part actually sit on the hood? Or is there a gap?

Can someone post a profile picture?

Thanks!

I assume the logo is removeable, so it's not like I'll make them send me a new one.
Can you post a photo of this installed on your truck? Also which color did you buy? Black or Smoke?

It's still holding up pretty well actually. I'm quite happy with it. It's deflected birds over the windshield, been through 120 degree summer and is currently going through a frigid upper midwest winter, and doing very well.

Glad to hear its holding up I actually just got this delivered today. Going to be a bit before it warms up enough for me to install.

I've had both the aeroskin, and the one that sits about 1" from your hood. IMO get the aeroskin, it looks nicer than the one that attaches via brackets.

I had the OEM bugshield; what a piece of junk. Always came loose, and made an obnoxious drone/howl at 75mph and up. I like the look of the Aeroskin a lot better. No noise either.

im liking that. I put on the Weathertech on my 2016 to protect the hood edge paint. That's all it does. It is attached rock solid. It's all about the prep. I'm afraid to change it. Removal will probably pull the paint.
