Default 2015 5.0L acceleration noise

I'm experiencing an odd, intermittent noise when accelerating, it is mainly when I go to accelerate from stop and go traffic, or go from light throttle to heavy throttle on the highway to pass. It sounds like a very loud belt slipping, and comes from the passenger side floorboard. Anyone else have experience with this issue?

Hi Cbryant_1,

I recommend scheduling an appointment at your dealership. Shoot me a PM with your name, best contact number, VIN, and dealership information; I'll loop in your regional customer service manager to help keep the noise down.

I started hearing same noise with mine today. To me it seems that it could be trasmission or transfer case. I noticed it when I let off throttle, coasted and then apply throttle again. I was able to recreate the sound. It seems to make it when in fifth gear and I give it gas. I also heard it when it was in fourth gear and pressing the gas.

Hi gixxerbrett,

How many miles do you have on your truck? I'll see how I can help out.

My 2014 4wd w/5.0 would occasionally do the same thing. I thought it was from the passengers side engine bay. I never reported it because it only happened about once a month or so. It would happen if I floored it from about 50 mph. I traded it with 80K.

Not sure it's the same noise I'm hearing, but....

Is it like a low pitch quick whomp noise, after quickly going 3/4 to wide open throttle? Kinda like rubbing a wet finger on a balloon quickly?

I changed my engine filter and thought the filter element was causing the noise, but it's back, and I'm pretty sure it's something in the cold air intake vibrating against something, or the system itself vibrating. I can easily duplicate it, so I'll be taking my service tech for a ride when I have the time to leave my truck with them for a few days.

Here's my thread on it.

That's a perfect description of it. Gotta be the same. I also wondered if it was the air box. I had a drop in K&N filter.
