Default 2015 2.7 Hot Engine error

Truck was off all day. Before I turned it on I got Engine Coolant Over Temp Error.
I tried turning off & on a couple of times never cleared.
The truck thinks engine is hot. The engine fan turns to high as soon as I turn it on. It cranked a while before it would start. Im sure because fuel mixture is wrong.
Prob. a bad temp sensor.
Engine temp gauge shows cold.
1. Any way to clear it?
2. Think its safe to drive to dealer?

THX

If you disconnect the battery by removing the cable from the negative post, give it a few minutes, then reattach, that should clear the code. Restart. If the code returns, a trip to the dealer is in your future. I would give them a call, and get their advice regarding whether you should drive it in or have it towed.

Just got done dealing with a similar issue.

Cold start and got the high temp coolant warning. Truck was dead...towed to the dealership, diagnostic check came back as a faulty sensor.

That turned into quite the ordeal with waiting for parts or getting the wrong parts in from Ford, but 6 weeks and a rat chewed wiring harness later I finally got my truck back. Hope your situation turns out better than mine.

Well so far it's better
Tow truck got here after 20 min
I hope it's not rodent eating wires
Did you have to pay for repair?

Change that. It went to crap.
A rodent or squirrel got in engine area and chewed up a bunch of wires.
Some of the engine has to be taken apart to fix it.
Not covered under warranty.
