Default 2.7L Payload package

Just seen that this package is only available on the XLT 300a package, and is not available on the 301a or the 302a according to the 2019 order form.

Ford kind of shoots themselves in the foot if they want to bring up their CAFE mpg numbers as this forces many people to go to a larger engine if they want a more featured package and want to Tow heavier trailers.

Without the 2.7L Ecoboost Payload Package, the payload and towing capacity is greatly diminished.

Or maybe, just maybe, Ford understands that the higher weights will push the motor out of its efficiency window and actually yield worse mpg.

Surprising that they would offer a truck engine that can't accomplish full size truck duties without taking away the benefit of the 2.7L, being mpgs. Didn't realize that about the engine, that when configured with the standard frames and suspensions offered in the 3.5L Eco engines and 5.0Ls, that it would offer poor mpgs. Hum, I guess you make a point that maybe it shouldn't be used for more vigorous full truck duties.

Maybe Ford needs to market the 2.7L Ecoboost as such, especially when you consider that going from a 300a with few options likely isn't more than 100 lbs less than the 302a package without options. I actually thought it could keep it's good mpgs while offering an upgrade to the 301a package at least, but now think, maybe not. Good point.

Man, you for some reason seem to have some dark, deep hatred for the 2.7 engine. It is just an engine. You should not let it bother you so much. Just relax and enjoy which ever of the other exquisite engines that you chose.

This is exactly why I chose the 5.0 over the 2.7. The 5.0 has a higher payload with the 302a package. Plus, even if you are ok with the 300a, you'll have to special order the 2.7 payload package because dealers do not stock it. At least not in my state.
