Question 2.7 FL-2062 Oil Filter - Different Versions?

Has anyone noticed different style FL-2062 Motorcraft oil filters?

Changed oil last week with a Motorcraft filter purchased at O'Reilly ($8.99 for whatever it's worth). Has the black end caps. Figured I'd pick up another to have on hand for next time from the Ford dealer this time (actually cheaper at $5.63). Very different style. No black end caps. Seems "cheaper" - obviously it was price-wise, but quality wise maybe? Less waste suppose which is good. Just found it curious. Both came in Motorcraft boxes, O'reilly purchased one with red o-rings, the Ford dealer purchased one with 2 large green o-rings and a black small one. Guessing different source vendor. Just very obvious visual differences. The one I got from the Ford dealer has a 2020-02-11 date printed, so recent part. The other is installed already so can't check.

OK - kind of what I figured. O'Reilly probably has some left over stock and only a matter of time.

Thanks for confirming!

PS - for what it's worth, O'Reilly lists it as FL-2062-AW on their site... I can't recall what the box showed, as I've already threw it out.

The "old" style looks like a WIX, and the "new" version looks like a MicroGuard.
