The 2.7 is a solid performer.

I'd buy another.

Mine?

Over its 10,000 miles it's averaged 22.2 on the lie-o-meter.

There is an issue with 2.7 ecoboost engines built in early 2016. I'm someone on here will chime in on that problem.
hi, had a 2016 xlt 2.7, they had to replace my engine, when I got it back I really didn't want it anymore, traded it in on a 2017 Lariat 5.0

I have a 2016 F150 XLT with the 2.7L. It's build date is 09/06/2016. I've put about 7500 miles on it and my mpg average is ~23 with mixed driving.

After the dealer had the truck just under 1 month, I got it back today for repairs under TSB 172077. The dealearship replaced both heads under warrenty. Hopefully that fixes it...

FYI - If you are considering one with the 2.7, TSB 172077 covers vehicles built on Apr 1, 2016 through *Jan* 1, 2017. I'd avoid any truck made during this time frame if at all possible.

Since it will be bought from a Ford dealer, do they have to perform the work in the TSB before selling it?

2016 XLT 2.7 with 10,000 trouble free miles on mine. Averaging about 19.8 mpg's. I'm sold on this little Ecoboost, always in it's power band, always willing to move out when you mash the gas pedal. Pulls like a champ too.
