2.7 eco vs 3.5 eco: which one?

Beer, Boats, and Trucks.
I think the 2.7L EB would be the perfect choice for you. Best MPG and most nimble of the lineup, you'll have a blast driving it!
Now lets hurry up and close this thread before the 5.0 guys find it!
EDIT: too late -.-

I drive a 2010 Ford Flex Limited and do some media and public relations work for Ford. Love the products and just helped my brother in law buy a 2015 XL Screw 2.7L 5.5 bed 4x4 FX4. I've fallen in love with it and am looking at a 2015 or 2016 XLT or Lariat. My struggle is: which ecoboost engine? I will likely get the RWD as I don't off road, my son has a 2000 7.3L diesel Scab F-250 so I have access to a 4x4 whenever i need it.
Both the 2.7L and 3.5L ecoboost engines are twin turbo, the 3.5L tows way more but I don't need to tow anything (though having something that tows more isn't shabby if it's a better, more reliable or better MPG engine). I am a speedy lady and enjoy scooting and great handling vehicles. And love the functionality of a truck.
Would love your thoughts!

trying to help op as it appears to be a lady. I wouldn't let my wife drive a turboboost, and they get worse mpg than 5.0 anyways.
here you go op. turboboost isn't the way to go

Beer, Boats, and Trucks.
I've seen a video or two comparing all 3 engines in a drag race (little less then a quarter mile I think cause of the parking lot size) but the 2.7 wins by a solid amount. Disclaimer, I'm not entirely sure of the gearing on these and trim levels, but I think regardless the 2.7 won by enough that it wouldn't matter what the configuration was.

the video was purposefully chosen to make the 2.7 win. the 1/4mile it would've lost to the 3.5 eco.

Thank you, all! A lot of great content and things to think about. Reviewing the 5.0 thread now and will def go drive one. I love my brother in law's 2.7 as it is quick and nimble. But worth looking at the 5.0 for sure.
If I did the 3.5 eco, I'd wait for 2017 (thank you for that engine refinement tip)!
I am indeed a female, so thank you gents for your hospitality and for taking the time to respond. I love the Ford brand and am exciting at the possibility of owning my own truck. The Flex has been a nice introduction to a great American made car company.
I am in North Florida and travel often throughout the state, so the XLT as well as Lariat crew cab is well appointed for trips.
I will continue to monitor this thread for anything additional. And happy Wednesday!

I just drove the 2.7 EB and the 5.0 back to back. Both offer wonderful driving experiences--as expected the 2.7 has a quick, turbo feel that gets you moving more quickly then its power feels more like the 5.0. The 5.0 just has consistent power without the turbo push and sounds and feels like a traditional, growling truck. Quite different which was pretty cool! I can see that the new F-150 offers something for everyone.
