Default 2.5" Leveling Kit Concerns

I have been reading about 2.5" leveling kits and on some of the reviews I read that people were having rubbing issues between the UCA and the coil springs. Has anyone had this issue with their 2.5" kit? I bought the supreme suspension 2.5" kit but haven't installed it yet.

no issues here. it rubs at full droop, but when you set the truck back down on the ground there is sufficient space. if you plan on flexing that hard then a different suspension set up might be better for you.

All leveling kits will have contact between the spring & control arm when jacked up leaving the suspension to hang at full extension. This is not a problem when driving because of the weight on the front suspension. However, you need to be careful as stated above if doing heavy off road or even hitting bumps (such as a speed bump) at high speed causing the suspension to extend fully, contact may occur. My main concern with leveling kits is the ball joint/cv axle angle. I've installed & run many leveling kits & the higher you go, the worse the angle & stress on your parts. Personally I would never run anything over a 2" level. I've seen the extreme angles of the cv shafts & ball joints going bigger. Hence the reason I settled on the 1.5" AS kit. It takes a great deal of the rake out of the truck without having the extreme angles of the bigger kits. Just my $0.02. But it's your truck & your money to do with what you want.

I'm no mechanic, but I agree. My 2014 had a rough country 2.5 leveling kit. Now I had no rubbing or noises and loved the look, but my 2015 has the RC 4" suspension lift and love the ride and looks even more. They both had the same name brand and size wheel and tires, Mastercraft MXT 35x20x12.5.

But as I always say, it's what you like and want to spend.

After leveling kit and Mastercraft MXT

After Mastercraft MXT tires
