Default 18 Lariat vs Platinum differences

Can a fully loaded Lariat equal a fully loaded Platinum? Are there differences?

I may be wrong on this, but I believe the Platinum has upgraded seats. Only real differences beyond that are trim.

The only fully loaded trim level to come close to a Platinum I believe is a King Ranch. Please correct if I am wrong.

A loaded-out 502A Lariat is very close to a Platinum. The biggest difference is the massaging seats (minus) and the lack of chrome and that gaudy tailgate badge (huge plus).

This.

AFAIK, my 2015 502A has everything a Platinum has, minus the power running boards and massaging seats.

Precisely!
I did the comparison when I bought my Lariat. I wanted to see what the differences were...I didn't want the tailgate badge or the tacky chrome stuff all over the truck.
I also wanted the PTM grille and other areas like door handles etc.

I have a 502a with all the exstras and there isn't much on a Platinum that my truck doesn't have. Massaging seats? Nah!
My Lariat has pretty much everything a Platinum has so for those who say no, whats the difference?

I decided to go the optioned up 502a route mainly because i wanted the 2.7L engine. But was also happy to not have the big tailgate badge and I prefer the (fake) wood trim pieces inside (versus brushed aluminum I believe is in the platty).

Might be a difference in steering wheel? Also, depending on which color you get, the Lariat could have more chrome than a Platinum if the sport package is not available.

Fortunately, they went to a brushed carbon looking insert in 2018 (maybe 2017?) versus the faux wood grain that was in my 2016.

The wheel may be slightly different... I got an SE, so mine was different in its own right. I then swapped it with a Raptor wheel.

If Ford would listen to the customers and come out with an anti-Platinum (blacked out everything) they'd sell a lot of them. The SEs are nice, but the black/red look isn't for everyone.
