Default 12v power after engine shutdown

In case anybody is interested, the 12v power on my vehicle stays active for 75 minutes after engine shutdown.

I have a dash cam (with no internal battery) that recorded for that long after turning off the vehicle.

Personally I would have preferred that the 12v would be shut off as soon as the engine is, like all the other vehicles I have owned. I assume that someone at Ford decided this would be a great thing, but I just don't see the purpose.

I see if as a great benefit. Annoying to keep key on acc just to power an outlet. I used these features often when waiting for people etc and don't want to keep engine running or all accessories on.

Did they change it for the 16's.. My 15 doesn't stay on that long and I had to come up with a mod to get power longer than the 15 minutes I had for my 12V cooler. But there was talk that it depends on how much power you are drawing but I haven't tested that.

That is a good point. The camera doesn't draw much power.

I will be taking a road trip next weekend and will have my 12v cooler along and will get back to you. Maybe there is a sensor that shuts down the 12v after a certain amount of power is delivered.
