Default 10spd click

Hello all, just wondering if it's normal for my 10 spd trans to make an audible click while switching gears? Sometimes I can hear it sometimes it's smooth and silent. I never feel anything just hear it. 2020 with about 30k miles.

When you say switching gears do mean going from 1st to 2nd or from Park to Drive? Mine does it going from Park to Drive, seems normal

No, like from 3rd to 4th, I can sometimes but not always hear an audible click.

I'm overly sensitive to the trans as my '17 Sierra puked 2 of them in under 100k miles. That's why I'm here with Ford.

how many miles on the truck? Did you buy it new? These transmissions are noisy. mine has gotten butter smooth at 45k miles. The first 10k miles where extremely clunky. I've noticed that it is extremely sensitive to the way you drive. if i drive easy, its smooth and does what's it suppose to. If i drive hard it gets firm and shifts are more noticeable. its the programming, ford should have had one program and not the adaptive system they have now.

Truck has 30k on it, I bought it about 3 weeks ago. It isn't real concerning, just figured the 10spd would be real smooth.

unhook your battery for 10 min, that will reset the adaptive system and will learn the way you drive, that may help. Also there was a youtube video where a guy claimed he took it to the dealer and the tech turn the adaptive system off and that completely solved his shifting issues. Take that as you will.

the 10 speed does all sorts of goofy things. Turn off the indicator and stop watching the gears shift, it will drive you crazy.
