$1000 headlight
I had a slide on ice on the driveway a couple of weeks back - truck made it up fine, but didn't fare so well going back down - hit a tree - not a bad impact - no airbag deployment. That tree caught me from sliding further down, building up speed and hitting a much larger tree or two. :-)
There is what I thought was repairable damage on the hood and RF quarter panel, but those were replaced with OEM parts versus a repair.
I was astounded to see the price of the LED headlight replacement in the insurance claim. The headlight was still functional, but there was a small crack up top and the support/mounting bracket was cracked. The re-manufactured/OEM-equivalent headlight assembly in the estimate was $789. I called the local Ford dealer parts department to confirm and they did - $1029!
I never thought I'd see the day where we would have $1000 headlights to worry about. Anyhow, I'm keeping the old one as a future spare.

The BLIS enabled taillights are really expensive too.
I found it interesting that GM (in the new 2019 Silverado launch) has put the BLIS monitor inside the bumper step vs. inside the taillight. Per the report, it was a huge savings.
