Hello All

I need an outlet. I'm so frustrated I don't know if I should cry, hit the wall, or get a damn lawyer. I bought a 2015 XLT on 8/30. Rode to the airport on 8/31 and the Service Advance Trac light and Hill Assist light comes on. Well I'm thinking maybe I pressed the wrong button or something, but it never goes off. So after my travels were done I took it in for service on 9/3.

I've gotten the Regional Manager envolved and they are expedition a new rack and pinion that should be here on 9/9. WTH I drove from the dealer, to the airport, and back to the dealer and need a new rack and pinion.

What are my options, should I lawyer up, should I ask or can I get out of the contract, what kind of concessions should I ask for.

Isn't getting a lawyer a bit extreme?

I guess I'm just a laid back Canadian....

Does it drive? If yes, drive it, then have it repaired on the 9th...

Other than that, I wouldn't cry, or get a lawyer either. Frustrated, possibly, but things could be way worse in life than that..

First world problems I guess.

I would think that asking for an extended warranty would certainly be in line for your troubles.

Damn, the longer I hang around this forum the more and more I question my wanting to order one in 16.

sorry to hear about your issues with the brand new truck. Good news is that they are expediting your rack, but it's unfortunate to be seeing these issues.

Cedric - I'm sorry to hear your frustration. Best thing now, calm down a little and let them fix the truck. Easy to say, hard to do, I understand. I'm hoping that this will be your only issue, and it's fixed promptly.

If they can't fix, or you have to return to get something else related to the issue fixed shortly afterwards, then I would request a replacement. In the meantime, you may want to check your states lemon laws, as a previous poster mentioned.

Good luck, you are not alone!

Gee whiz people are entitled. They can't have 100.00% perfection at the rate these trucks are going out the door.

I could understand being bent out of shape if they've had it a number of times for the same repair, or for many different repairs, but if it's just one thing - and one that you haven't even given them the chance to fix before heading off to complain about it - just be patient and let them fix it...

Let the dealer fix it. That is what your warranty is for.

What is it with people these days who want to sure if they stub their toe.

Just to clarify my lawyer comment . . . I have access to a various types of lawyers free of charge as a peak through my employer. I'm looking for an advocate to aid in negotiations. I've never owned a Ford and this relationship is off to a rocky start. All I want is the assurance that I'm not dropping 40k on a defective truck. So an extended warranty would suffice or a new truck. I put 30 mile on the truck and I'm not trying to get out of the loan. But you have to acknowledge this is a horrible start.

Keep in mind the have offered a free maintaince plan. However I don't feel that's a fair concession. Presumably, counsel could assist in the negotiations.
