Default preventative rust maintenance

my 07 is 99% rust free and i really want to keep it that way, but new england winters really take their toll. what are your guys opinions on rust prevention? i know regular washes through the winter are key but what about fluid film or things like it, thoughts? thanks guys

I'll be posting a similar question about this shortly, as I've been researching rust prevention. Basically, the information on oil-based spray-on solutions provided by companies like Rust Check and Krown suggests those methods work. Corrosion modules don't.

Subscribed. I bought a used F150 and Ohio winters keep roads covered in salt and such. I've not researched this much, but I want to keep my truck looking good for a long time.

I lived in Montreal for 7 years and used a silicone based oil spray every fall. That car had no rust on any body or door panels when I left there. Although all the bolts like Exhaust etc. were locked solid & needed a torch to free them up.

oil based and reason is cause the wax based or any other just clogs up drain holes and dosent spray very well . it does not reach where its need .

I take alot of cars and trucks apart , literally sectioning and what not ,striping doors down for what ever reason maybe putting new skins on or what ever . And I see how some have this waxy build up in some areas and other areas nothing and Rust .

Its always gonna be a constant battle even with aluminium .
