need help
got into accident last month a little fender bender, except my fender bent over my door to the point where it will not open. I take a mechanics vocational class in my high school and am sorta tired of taking the bus. im also low on funds and cannot afford a repair and do not want to scrap it. i need a way to get it out so i can open my door any help would be appreciated thnx
The fender is held on with roughly 6 bolts on most F-150s. You didn't say what year/model you have but you should be able to remove the fender, then bend it to a reasonable level so your door no longer touches. The fenders are made of thin metal so a rubber hammer and some elbow grease will do the trick, if it is doing what I think you discribed. Maybe post a picture and I might be able to help you out more.
For anyone who MIGHT be reading this thread: Go to your library! Mine was accessible online. The entire Ford Service manual for my model truck was right there. Got all the info and pictures I needed to do the job of removeing the fender
In short, you remove the cowl covering, then the grill, etc etc until you cn remove the fender.
What a deal! About 9 bolts for the fender.
