Default Minimum requirements for welder

Body shop estimate to replace my rockers and fix some other rust spots is off the hook. I've got the confidence to take on the job. I have research, power outlet in my garage and a retired wrencher sidekick neighbor to give me direction.

What's the minimum welder I should look at? I have several wire feed options in my shopping area.

I assume you're talking about a wire feed (MIG) welder. At least a 240 volt input power, the 110 volt units usually come up short. Look at the Hobart 180; I have a Hobart 210 and it makes me look good. Do not use fluxcore on body work; spring for a bottle of C25 and run a ER70S-6 solid core wire.
