Default is this going to cause rust?

hi, i have a 00 f150. i took off the fender flares thinking they are ugly. i took off the clips holding the flares and now i have a bunch of holes on thefender. I am excited to put bolts in the holes to line the fender and look pretty cool. now im worried that these bolts will rust and affect the body because i have to drill the bed fenders to mount the bolts.

is this gonna rust out if the body metal is unpainted around the bolts?\
thanks guys.

Use stainless steel bolts if you can and coat the threads with silicone before assembly. At the very least take a small brush and coat the new holes with rustoleum paint first

i decided to line the bolts in rubber hose i have laying around for dirt bike carburetor lines. plus i will put o-rings on both sides of bolt before torquing nut to make sure it doesnt bite into the body. I am thinking this will prevent metal on metal rubbing.

I'll definately use silicon. and i pulled back the plastic wheel wells on the front quarter panel and noticed the paint chipping. so i will clean and paint the area before i put the trim bolts on.

these 97-03 trucks just love rust and the paint doesnt seem durable at all.

i will post a picture of my truck after i put the bolts in the fender holes. someone might like this idea. i am cranking the torsion bars up to a safe degree, installing add a leafs, nitro shocks and building new prerunner style bumpers and making room to mount a winch

Outstanding. I love to get super detailed with my truck even if it's small things. I look forward to your progress pics.
