How do I fix pitted chrome on front grille?

 

For the most part you can't. Chrome is a 3 layer application of copper, nickel and final coat of chrome. Once the 3 layers are penetrated by rock dings and sand, the steel substrate will rust. All you can do is clean it with steel wool and wax it to prevent further damage.
