Default Chrome clad wheels

I've got a set of the 18" "chrome" daisy wheels on my 2011. I just cannot for the life of me stand the chrome look on a brown truck. Honestly the wheels just plain look cheesy regardless of the truck color. Has anyone pulled the chrome clad off a set of these and painted them? How did it turn out?

I haven't found anything in searching, and I'm not quite ready to just pull the chrome until I see pics or can find a spare wheel to work on.

Try some Plasti-dip, lots of colors to choose from. Just do one wheel. It is very forgiving and easy to remove as long as you put on 6 or so coats.

My dislike for the daisy wheels isn't just the chrome. It's the overall style. No amount of paint or plastidip is gonna make them look better.

Anyway, I finally got my answer to my original question. Had a brake locking up, put enough heat out to bake the adhesive holding the cladding on.

The bare aluminum wheels really arent much better.

Time to find some newer alloys instead.

Here's a pic for anyone else that might eventually have this question.
